Santa 2013

Santa showed up at the Library!   and we listened to " 't was the Night Before Christmas" poem story illustrated on Flannel board, decorated cookies, and trees, and made finger print reindeer on Christmas balls.   Everyone got a candy cane and some left their decorated trees for all to enjoy at the circulation desk.

On mild days, we get visits from preschool and kindergarten, and when the weather gets colder, Nancy will go to their classes and share books with them there.   Deb goes to Kids Korner Day Care and reads books monthly.

We had fun decorating pumpkins with 3-5th graders on an early out day.  We also made manakins and watched a movie.  Thanks to Raejean Chapman,  Karen Weld, and Aurie Urban for your help.

We ate some Dahl, as described in the book - lentils and rice.  We learned a lot about Nepal's civil war and how fear broke up families, creating many "orphans" and Conor's reuniting of children with their parents.  On November 21st we'll discuss "Edgar Sawtelle" by David Wroblewski.
